Introduction

The Samaj Kalyan Samiti, under NDMC, manages three Old Age Homes in New Delhi. These homes provide a safe and caring environment for financially independent elderly individuals. They offer a peaceful and secure living space for senior citizens in their later years.

1. Aashirwaad Niketan (Fully Air-Conditioned)

Eligibility Criteria for Admission
  • Age: Must be 60 years or older.
  • Location: Open to residents of Delhi/NCR.
  • Income: Applicants should be financially independent and able to cover accommodation and other charges.
  • Health: Applicants must not suffer from chronic or communicable diseases requiring constant medical attention.

Application Process

Who can apply: Men and women aged 60 or above. Priority is given to Delhi residents and those without children for support.

Documents required:

  • Two passport-size photographs
  • Two references (preferably one from a former employer)
  • Proof of regular income (e.g., pension slips, income tax returns)
  • Health certificate from a Government Hospital
  • Police verification certificate
  • Local guardian’s surety bond (for payment responsibility)

Applications must be made using the prescribed form. Incomplete applications may be rejected.


Admission Process

Selection: Managed by a Governing Body. Selected candidates will be called for an interview and may need to provide additional documents.
Medical Check-up: Selected candidates undergo a health check at Charak Palika Hospital, Moti Bagh, and a police verification process.
Notification: Selected candidates will be informed by phone. They must occupy the accommodation within a month, or the offer will be cancelled.


Rules and Regulations
Allotment of Accommodation

Furniture Provided: Bed, chair, and cupboard. No personal furniture is allowed without prior approval.
Room Changes: Room or seat changes are not allowed without written permission.

Maintenance and Inspection

Room Maintenance: Residents are responsible for the upkeep of their space. Damages must be repaired by the resident.
Room Inspection: Rooms may be inspected daily by the management.

Attendance and Outings

Notification: Residents must inform the manager before leaving the home. For overnight stays outside, details of the host must be provided.

Telephone Use

Restricted Use: Phone calls via the office phone are allowed only in emergencies with cash payment.


Catering and Meals

Mess: Membership in the mess is compulsory. Vegetarian meals and eggs are served.


Security and Personal Belongings

Valuables: The management is not responsible for the loss of cash or valuables. Residents are responsible for their belongings.


Visiting Hours

Daily: 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Weekends & Holidays: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (in the lounge)

  • Double seater: ₹8033/month
  • Dormitory (4-seater): ₹5355/month
  • Electricity/Water: ₹400
  • Mess Maintenance: ₹400
  • Security Deposit: ₹15,000 (Refundable)
Aaradhana Niketan
  • Single seater: ₹2484/month
  • Double seater: ₹1509/month
  • Electricity/Water: ₹400
  • Mess Maintenance: ₹300
  • Security Deposit: ₹8000 (Refundable)
Sandhya Niketan
  • Single seater: ₹3015/month
  • Double seater: ₹1509/month
  • Dormitory: ₹2171/month
  • Electricity/Water: ₹400
  • Mess Maintenance: ₹300
  • Security Deposit: ₹8000 (Refundable)

Note: A 5% increase in the license fee is applied every three years.


Additional Rules
  • No Pets: Pets are not allowed. Feeding animals is prohibited.
  • No Intoxicants: Alcohol and drugs are strictly forbidden.
  • Discipline: Residents must follow the rules to maintain peace. Violations lead to counselling, warnings, or eviction.
