Working Women Hostels

Introduction

The NDMC Samaj Kalyan Samiti operates three well-established working women hostels in New Delhi, providing a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for working women, including those employed in government, semi-government sectors, reputed firms, or pursuing internships or training. These hostels come with mess facilities and are located in areas with good connectivity to metro stations.

Hostel Locations and Accommodation Details

1. Indira Niketan Hostel, Laxmi Bai Nagar, New Delhi

  • Accommodation Types: Four-seater rooms & Dormitory (8-seater)
  • New Addition: A new fully air-conditioned Sushma Block offering two-seater accommodations (advance booking open on first-come, first-served basis)

2. Swati Hostel, Mandir Marg, New Delhi

  • Accommodation Types: Three/Four-seater rooms & Dormitory (10–12 seater)

Admission Process and Eligibility

  • Admission is available only to single women (married or unmarried) employed in Govt./Semi-Govt. organisations, pursuing internships, or training at reputed firms in and around Delhi.
  • Applicants can be from Delhi or outside Delhi.
  • Applications must be submitted online in the prescribed format along with:
    • Office ID Card
    • Age Proof (preferably 10th class certificate or Aadhar card)
    • Health Certificate (from Govt./Mpl. Hospital, Dispensary, or Private Practitioner)
    • Employer Letter detailing pay and allowances
    • Two recent passport-size photographs at the time of admission
    • Self-Declaration stating the applicant has not previously stayed in any SKS institution
    • Undertaking from the local guardian with photo ID (preferably Aadhar)

Facilities Provided

  • Central Location: Conveniently located with proximity to metro stations.
  • Security: 24/7 CCTV surveillance and security personnel.
  • Basic Amenities: Filtered drinking water, round-the-clock electricity and water supply.
  • Housekeeping: Regular cleaning and maintenance of common areas.
  • Health Facilities: Periodic visits by medical officials, first aid available.
  • Recreational: Open gym, spacious reading rooms, and common areas.
  • Mess Facility: Mess charges are mandatory for all residents.

Aakansha Hostel (Mandi House)

  • Single Seater: Rs. 7358/- (+GST)
  • Two Seater: Rs. 3883/- (+GST)
  • Three/Four Seater: Rs. 3512/- (+GST)
  • Elect./Water Charges: Rs. 600/-
  • Mess Charges: Rs. 3050/- (+GST) (Mandatory)
  • Guest Stay (per day): Rs. 402/- (+GST)
  • Security Deposit (Refundable):
    • Single Seater: Rs. 18,000/-
    • Two/Three/Four Seater: Rs. 15,000/-

Swati Hostel (Mandir Marg)

  • Three/Four Seater: Rs. 3365/- (+GST)
  • Dormitory (10–12 Seater): Rs. 2479/- (+GST)
  • Elect./Water Charges: Rs. 600/-
  • Mess Charges: Rs. 3050/- (+GST) (Mandatory)
  • Guest Stay (per day): Rs. 402/- (+GST)
  • Security Deposit (Refundable): Rs. 15,000/-

  • Dormitory (8 Seater): Rs. 2694/- (+GST)
  • Elect./Water Charges: Rs. 600/-

  • Guest Stay (per day): Rs. 402/- (+GST)
  • Security Deposit (Refundable): Rs. 15,000/-

Note: A 10% increase in license fee will occur every April.

Rules and Regulations

Part-I: General Information

  • Admission Criteria: Only employed women or those in training or internships are eligible.
  • Advance Booking: First-come, first-served for new blocks with air-conditioned facilities.
  • Documents Required: Office ID, Age Proof, Health Certificate, Employer Letter, and photographs must be submitted online.

Part-II: Hostel Policies

  • Selection of Candidates: Admissions are made by the Hostel Governing Body or an authorised officer. The decision is final.
  • Maintenance of Hostel Property: Residents must care for furniture and fittings; any damage must be compensated.
  • Payments: Hostel charges must be paid in advance by the 7th of each month. A late fee of Rs. 50/- per week will be levied after the due date.
  • Room Inspections: Rooms will be inspected regularly by hostel authorities.
  • Attendance: Daily attendance is mandatory. Late arrivals must report to hostel staff.
  • Hostel Gate Timings: The hostel gate closes at 11:00 PM. Residents must inform in advance for late returns.
  • Guest Stay: Residents can host one guest at a time for a maximum of 5 days, at the guest charges.
